A little about the teachers...

 Sandy Crider ( Lead Teacher)

My name is Sandy Crider. This is my 9th year teaching the 4's here at HOPE Academy. I truly feel blessed to be a part of such a fine school. I am married. My husband Mark and I have 5 wonderful daughters. Olivia (23) is a Senior at Sam Houston University ,TX. Jessica (22) is a USC graduate with a degree in Public Relations. Heather (20) is a Junior, also here at USC. Amanda (18) attends Midlands Technical College and Brandi (18) is a Freshman at Winthrop University. My family and I are members of Seacoast Church in Columbia. In my spare time, I enjoy going on walks, cooking, gardening and scrapbooking.

Yolanda Valenzuela (Afternoon Teacher)

My name is Yolanda Valenzuela. I have been part of the 4-A team for the last 7 years. I am a member of HOPE Baptist Church. I truly love my job and the children that are here and i feel blessed to be a part of their lives here at HOPE Academy.

About the classroom

Our 4-yr-old classroom is designed to help the students grow physically,socially,emotionally and academically. Our classroom has 7 main center areas : Blocks, Home Center, Library, Computer Center, Art Center, Science Center and manipulatives (puzzles, beads,etc.). Centers are open in the mornings from 7:30-8:00 and 10:30-11:00 and in the afternoons from 3:15-4:00.

Our classroom uses the A-BEKA 4-yr. old curriculum. It is a Phonics-based, christian curriculum. The curriculum is taught daily from 8:00-12:00. It includes Bible, Handwriting, Phonics and Number skills . It also teaches Language Development, Health and Safety and Character Development.
